IRC is a relatively new modality for the treament of symptomatic hemorrhoids.  The procedure can be done in the office, only takes a few minutes and patients experience minimal discomfort.  No anesthesia is required.  IRC is an excellent options for some - but not all - types of hemorrhoids.  It isn't used to treat external hemorrhoids.
