During the first three years of practice at Florida Hospital, Dr. Sam Atallah would become involved in the training of Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellows as part of the MIS Fellowship Faculty. During this time, Florida Hospital develops a General Surgery Program to train 2 residents/per year through the department of Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Atallah also becomes part of the faculty to train these residents in colon and rectal surgery. The first 2 general surgeons from this program graduated in July, 2012. The graduates were both female; one went on to persue further training in cardiothoracic surgery while the other chose to specialize in colon & rectal surgery.
